He was a graduate of Manhattan Prep and attended Columbia University receiving a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Manhattan College in 1945.
He served with the Navy Seabees as a commissioned civil engineer during World War II (1942-1945) and the Korean War (1951-1953).
